BirdyFish Double Race

There is a moment every BirdyFish sailor remembers. The hull lifts. The spray stops. The water disappears beneath you. You are flying, properly flying, faster than you ever thought possible on a sailboat built for two.

The BirdyFish Double Race is the only two-person foiling dinghy at this price point in Australia and New Zealand. Built for speed, designed for racing, and engineered to make serious competition accessible to any experienced sailor ready to fly. This is the closest thing to SailGP you can launch off a beach.

Built to race, from the first session

At 4.7 metres with a scow hull and symmetric J-foils, the Race is the dedicated one-design regatta boat in the BirdyFish range. Membrane race sails upwind, a code zero downwind, upgraded furling system, Cunningham, and a full race rigging package. Precise sail trim and genuine competitive performance, right out of the box.

The J-foils are the key to everything. They do not just lift the boat. They actively contribute to righting moment. The faster you go, the more stable it gets. Get airborne from as little as 8 to 10 knots of breeze. Maximum recorded speed: 27.4 knots.

Stable by design

Unlike most monohull foilers, the BirdyFish is stable at rest. The J-foils provide righting moment as well as lift, so when you slow down, the boat settles gently back to the water instead of pitching you in. More time flying. Less time swimming. This single piece of engineering is what separates BirdyFish from every other foiling sailboat on the market.

For the sailor who commits

Two sailors or three. Club racer or class champion. The Race does not care. The foils do the work, and the boat rewards commitment and precision in equal measure. This is not a boat for those who hesitate. It is for those who feel the breeze build and go.

It is also, right now, the only two-person foiling dinghy available in Australia or New Zealand. The first boats are on their way. The first demo flights follow shortly after.

Foiling Made Easy

BirdyFish is a French-designed foiling sailboat, a range of three dinghies that lift clear of the water and fly at speeds that will redefine what sailing means to you. Each model uses a self-regulating foil system that provides righting moment and lift. Stable at rest, progressive takeoff, more secure the faster you go.

This is not a boat for the timid. It is a boat for sailors who want to fly.

About BirdyFish

SAILING REIMAGINED FOR EVERYONE

Born in an engineering school in Nantes, BirdyFish is a foiling sailboat built around a single idea: that flight should be for anyone who loves sailing, not just the elite. Three young engineers, a naval architect, and a specialist foil designer later, the result is a range of three dinghies that lift clear of the water and fly at speeds that will redefine what sailing means to you.

  • The only two-person foiling dinghy in its price bracket

  • Self-regulating foils provide stability through takeoff and in flight

  • No specialist equipment or technique required to get airborne

  • First BirdyFish World Championship held at Foiling Week 2025

  • Growing international racing circuit across France, Italy, the UK and the USA
